Peer review process

Articles are subject to an initial editorial review by an editor of TSS. Articles that do not meet the requirements, fall outside the journal’s scope, or contain unethically copied passages (as determined by a high similarity score detected by the plagiarism detection system) are rejected without further consideration. If a submitted manuscript contains deficiencies that can be corrected, the editor will return it to the authors for revisions before further evaluation. If the revised manuscript meets the formal requirements, it is forwarded to independent reviewers.
Research and review articles submitted by the editor-in-chief and other journal staff are reviewed by an editorial board member who has declared no conflict of interest in the journal’s online submission system. The editor-in-chief does not have access to their own submissions and cannot influence the selection of reviewers.
Article reviews are conducted by experts in the relevant field using a double-blind review process, meaning the identities of the reviewers and authors are concealed. Submitted manuscripts are evaluated by at least two external reviewers. The editor selects reviewers based on the research topic and their academic qualifications, determined by scholarly achievements and review experience.
